i'm a recent transplant to the bay area and i'm so excited to check it all out! from great restaurants, to super fresh produce, and sweater weather year round, what could be better? i foresee lots of camping, outdoor adventures, eating, cooking, writing, and photo-taking in my near future.
now enough about me, and more about the blog:
besides being a place to be creative, after all I work in science/ engineering and I need something like this to survive, this is a place to store my most favorite recipes, photos, and when i get around to it, stories. it's also a great place to keep me honest about staying meatless on mondays (a movement i feel passionate about), so you'll find all of my meatless monday posts here.
so why in the world is this blog called sophisticated pie? well, i really started out (here) thinking this would be more a collection of thoughts and not just recipes and photos, that i would talk about cooking and eating and baking, but i would also talk about math and science, hence pie - a little play on pi. and sophisticated just sounded natural. i liked it. it sounded right, and even though it quickly became a cooking and recipe site, the name stuck. so there it is! sophisticated pie.
